The Friends of President Polk's Birthplace, Inc.  is a 501c3 non-profit organization, founded in 1999.

What We Do:

While the President James K. Polk State Historic Site is a state-owned museum, most of the educational programs and special events for school children and adults are funded by the support group's member dues.

In the past, the Friends of President Polk's Birthplace, Inc. has funded summer camps and field trip experiences for children, special events like the President James K. Polk Birthday Celebration and Music, Dance 'n Que Fest, and programs like Historic Cooking with Cheryl Henry and Bubble Day!

The Polk Site also receives leadership support from a board comprised of support group members.
